It’s as if you’re suspended. A car crash in slow motion. Distilled. Imagine chunks of life flying through the air. You know they are going to hit you, and as you turn your head to avoid them you just can’t seem to move fast enough. Even though it takes four years for you to get hit. That’s what a college degree is like. No matter how hard you try, you can’t stop yourself from maturing. An Ivy League Peter Pan is an impossibility, a dream. We can see it coming from miles, years away, but non of us can prevent it. We can’t live in both worlds, no matter how hard we try. Even Tucker Max grew up at some point.

“Can I ask you a favour? I ask you too many favours don’t I?”
“Only when they are the impossible ones.”

And I followed my shadow right into her arms.

I caught myself chasing your shadow all night long. I stopped to catch my breath, you were gone by dawn.

There is a worse world out there somewhere. All we have to do is look for it.

I think about the first time
you called me “handsome”
and how I smiled at that.
(It caught me off guard.)

Sometimes I feel like I’m on the edge of the world and the only thing keeping me from falling over is your hand as it pulls me back.

I can see the wind in your hair. That alone shows me that it’s really there.
